NPP Broadens Delegate Base for 2026 Presidential Primary, Registration Now Open!

ACCRA – August 26, 2025 – In a significant move to enhance inclusiveness and transparency, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially opened registration for additional delegates for the upcoming Presidential Primary. This is in preparation for the primary election scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.
This decision is pursuant to a motion on transitional provisions adopted at the National Annual Delegates Conference held in Accra on Saturday, July 19, 2025. The party is expanding its voter register to include a broader range of dedicated party officials and dignitaries, reinforcing our commitment to the motto: Development in Freedom.
Who is Now Eligible to Register?
In accordance with Article 13(1)(11) of the NPP Constitution, the following new categories of Party officials have been included in the Presidential Primary voter album:
- All former Regional Executives
- All former Constituency Executives
- All Members of the National Council of Elders
- Thirty (30) Members of the National Council of Patrons
- All former party card-bearing Members of Parliament
- All former party-card-bearing Parliamentary Candidates
- All past National Officers
- All External Branch Executives
- All former External Branch Executives
- TESCON President from each recognized tertiary institution
- National TESCON Coordinator
- All Regional TESCON Coordinators
- One (1) TESCON Patron from each recognized institution
- All former party card-bearing Ministers and Deputy Ministers
- All former party card-bearing MMDCES
- Ten (10) Members from each Regional Council of Elders
- Ten (10) Patrons from each Region
- Five (5) Members of each Constituency Council of Elders
- Five (5) Patrons from each Constituency
How to Register
All officers and members who fall under the categories listed above are requested to register their names with their respective party structures, including the National Secretariat, Regions, Constituencies, and External Branches.
- Registration Forms: The official registration form can be downloaded from the Party’s website, www.newpatrioticparty.org.
- External Branches: For efficiency, an online registration link will be circulated to all External Branch Executives for digital registration.
- Deadline: The final day for registration is Friday, September 19, 2025.
A Commitment to a Credible Election
The Presidential Elections Committee, led by its Chairman and Secretary, William Yamoah, will conduct a comprehensive verification and validation of the party’s album. This is to ensure that a credible and authentic register is used for the election, reinforcing the NPP’s commitment to fairness and transparency.
