The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has outlined key guidelines for its upcoming parliamentary candidate selection process, providing prospective aspirants with details on the expression of interest, application fees, vetting and screening, and other requirements.
According to the directives issued by the Party’s General Secretary, Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong, the online expression of interest will open on 1 November and close on 10 November 2026. Interested persons are required to complete the prescribed application form through the Party’s official portal at ppc.nppghana.org. An application fee of GH₵5,000 is also required.
The Party has indicated that all prospective parliamentary candidates will undergo a vetting and screening exercise to determine their eligibility in accordance with established party requirements. Additionally, capacity-building workshops will be organized in December 2026 for prospective candidates across three designated zones: the Northern, Middle and Southern zones.
The guidelines apply to all prospective candidates, including incumbent Members of Parliament. The Party has emphasized that no aspirant is exempt from the selection process and that all applicants must comply with the prescribed requirements.
The General Secretary has also reiterated that the opening of the expression-of-interest process does not authorize aspirants to begin campaigning. The earlier directive suspending all campaign activities remains strictly in force until official clearance is granted.
The NPP explained that the structured process is intended to promote fairness, transparency, discipline and equal opportunities for all prospective parliamentary candidates. Party members are therefore expected to respect the guidelines and comply fully with the directives.
The Party urges all interested aspirants to take note of the timelines and requirements and await further official communication regarding the parliamentary selection process.

Beyond connectivity, the plan emphasizes ecological stewardship. By integrating smart-grid technology with regional solar arrays, the goal is to achieve energy independence while reducing the national carbon footprint by 30% over the next decade. The ripple effect on the manufacturing sector is expected to be profound, as lowered energy costs attract high-tech production.
